Delhi’s Covid-19 positivity rate on Monday jumped to 7.72 per cent as the city recorded 501 fresh cases, 16 less than the previous day, according to health department data.
The last time the positivity rate was above seven per cent in the city was on January 29 (7.4 per cent) and on January 28 (8.6 per cent).
“The Delhi Disaster Management Authority’s meeting is scheduled to be held on Wednesday next week under the chairmanship of the Lt Governor. It will discuss the prevailing Covid-19 situation, including the recent rise in the number of cases,” a senior Delhi government official said, as reported by news agency PTI.
DECISION ON SCHOOLS LIKELY
As Covid cases crossed the 500-mark in Delhi, a decision on physical classes in schools is also likely to be taken during the DDMA meet.
Some students in schools have tested positive for Covid-19 in Delhi-NCR, which has led to the closure of the premises.
