Delhi Crime Branch nabs drug supplier, seizes over 700 kg cannabis

The Delhi Crime Branch caught a contraband supplier and seized around 700 kilos of premium quality cannabis from him.
A contraband supplier was apprehended by Delhi Crime Branch on Monday and seized around 700 kilos of premium quality cannabis. Also, a car and a truck which were used in the commission of the crime were seized.
As per a tip off, a man identified as Mirza Ansari, known to supply cannabis in different parts of Delhi -- was reportedly going to visit a place near Akshardham Temple. A team of Crime Branch officials conducted a raid and apprehended him alongwith cannabis.
DCP Crime Branch, Deepak Yadav, said "A dedicated team of Inter State Cell, Crime Branch was constituted to collect specific inputs and to nab them. As per information received, Md. Mirza Ansari, 26, a resident of Laxmi Nagar was apprehended in an Ertiga car near Akshardham Temple with 19 packets of contraband weighing 252.150 kg."
During the course of the investigation, accused Mirza Ansari revealed that about 40 packets of cannabis were in a truck parked at Nirankari Ground, Gandhi Vihar which was wrapped in natural rubber. It weighed 406.950 kg while five packets of the drug weighing 50.700 kg were recovered from the accused's house. A total of 709.800 Kg of cannabis was seized.
All packets of the contraband were transported from Agartala, Tripura under the garb of natural rubber. The accused was born in Gwalior. He completed 12th from UP's Deoria in 2010-11 and further completed his graduation in Delhi.
