Delhi crime branch busted a syndicate supplying fake currency notes on Sunday.
The Delhi Police’s crime branch busted a syndicate supplying counterfeit currency notes on Sunday. It also recovered counterfeit currency notes worth more than Rs 34.75 lakh and arrested three people.
Along with the counterfeit notes, the police also recovered one printing machine, eight dyes used in making the notes, four boxes of ink, three CPU and one scanner.
The three arrested were identified as Rajpal, Azeem and Ashish Jain.
The police chalked out a strategy after they received information about a syndicate circulating counterfeit currency notes in Delhi and NCR regions.
On May 19, they received information that Ashish Jain would come to supply counterfeit notes. A team of the crime branch arrested him on the spot. The police recovered fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 1.5 lakh from him.
After interrogating Ashish Jain, his associate Rajpal Raju was apprehended and police recovered fake notes worth Rs 3.13 lakh. They also recovered 50 uncut printed currency notes worth Rs 62,000 and equipment used in developing the notes from his office in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.
Rajpal Raju’s associate Azeem Ahmed was apprehended from his office in Ghaziabad. The police recovered 453 uncut printed sheets worth Rs 26.37 lakhs. Along with that, eight printing proof plates were also recovered.
