Arvind Kejriwal demands middle class-focused budget with education, health, tax reforms ahead of Delhi elections.
Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday (January 22, 2025) demanded that the upcoming Budget should be dedicated to the middle class.
“I am making seven demands to the central government for the middle class”, he said, calling it AAP’s middle class manifesto.
His first demand was that the education budget should be increased from 2% to 10% and there should be a cap on fees charged by private schools.
The second one was that there should be subsidy and scholarships for higher education
Third, the health budget should also be increased to 10% and tax should be removed from health insurance.
Mr. Kejriwal listed his fourth demand saying that income tax (exemption) limit should be increased from 7 lakh to at least 10 lakh.
Removing GST on essential itemswas his fifth demand.

Senior CPI(M) leader A.K. Balan, who was removed from the party central committee at the 24th Party Congress in Madurai late last week in accordance with the age cap of 75 years for party positions, made a poignantly reflective Facebook post on Saturday, recalling his early years in the party and also stating, figuratively, that he is on the verge of yet another eviction – from the AKG Flat this time.
