Four children drowned while swimming in the Yamuna river.
Four children drowned while swimming in the Yamuna river. Burari Police Station received a PCR call regarding the "missing of four children". Police visited the scene of the incident i.e, Yamuna river near Thokar No.7, Chauhan Patti, and found one scooty and the clothes of children.
PCR caller Ajay was found present alongwith family members. During the enquiry it was found that the following 4 children came during day of July 7 to take a bath in Yamuna river and they accidentally got drowned in the river.
An eye-witness, namely Harish aka Batla, was also examined who confirmed that the following 4 children accidentally drowned in the river at about 12:30 pm on July 7.
The four children were identified as Wasim (15), Kamal (17), Iliyas (20) and Sameer (17).
An intensive search operation was carried out to recover the bodies. During the search operation, the deadbodies of 3 - Iliyas, Wasim and Kamal, were recovered from the Yamuna river and a search operation is still continuing to locate the body of Sameer.
Post mortem of the recovered deadbodies is being conducted at Mortuary Sabji Mandi. Statements from family members and other witnesses have been recorded and no foul play is suspected in the death.
