Delhi: 2 held for duping people on pretext of redeeming credit card points

Delhi Police has busted a gang of high-tech cyber fraudsters who used to cheat people on the pretext of redeeming credit card points. Police have arrested two men in connection with the case.
Delhi Police busted a gang of high-tech cyber fraudsters and arrested two men for duping people on the pretext of redeeming credit card points. Police also recovered 20 mobile phones, 5 laptops, 72 SIM cards, 2 Wi-fi dongles, 1 credit/debit/ATM card from the accused's possession.
The accused have been identified as Siddartha Raj Tiwari and Deepak Wadhwa.
A man identified as Prem Yadav had filed a complaint at National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) portal alleging that he had been duped on the pretext of credit card points redemption. In his complaint, he stated that he had received a call from a man who claimed to be an employee of SBI Bank. The caller asked the complainant to provide his credit card details, saying that he could assist him in redeeming the points on his credit card.
Taking the caller as a genuine employee of SBI Bank, the complainant followed his instructions. In no time, the complainant received notifications on his mobile phone regarding two transactions of Rs 90,000 and Rs 10,000 from his credit card. Subsequently, the complaint was transferred to Police station Cyber Rohini for further action.
During the course of investigation, based of technical analysis, police found that the accused were based in Subhash Nagar area. Accordingly, a raid was conducted and one of the accused Deepak was arrested. He disclosed that he along with Siddhatha (another accused) run call center to make fraud calls. On his disclosure, a raid was conducted at Subhash Nagar and the other accused was also arrested.
