Delegates from University of Melbourne visit Madurai school

Delegates from the University of Melbourne visited Mahatma Global Gateway School in Veerapanjan with an aim to reconnect with India after two years since the launch of ‘Engaging with India (2020-2024)’ here on Tuesday.
The delegates visited the school as part of their objective to engage with many schools in Madurai by offering online programmes in partnership with Global Education Solutions.
Accompanied by Correspondent S. Premalatha and teachers, a team of nine delegates toured around the campus, interacted with the students of primary classes, having an overview of the standard of education and the curriculum followed.
Speaking to the press, Moira O’Brian, Dean, Faculty of Science, said, “The importance given to culture which blends with the daily curriculum is what fascinated me the most.”
The five-year plan focuses on advancing the university’s engagement with university partners, key stakeholders and alumni in India.
The delegation intends to visit a number of academic institutions in Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Madurai.
Earlier, the delegation established joint and blended Ph.D, BSc programmes in partnership with Indian Institutes of Technologies and Indian Institute of Science, Education & Research, Tirupati.
