Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the government's decision to repeal the three farm laws, former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Parkash Singh Badal called it "a defining moment in history."

"This is the greatest event in the history of farmers' struggles across the world. I thank great Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj and congratulate every farmer who is working hard on his fields," said Parkash Singh Badal on Friday.
