Ranveer Singh had put up an appreciation post for Deepika Padukone after the release of Gehraiyaan. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Deepika revealed that she questioned the adjectives Ranveer used to praise her in that post.
After Gehraiyaan was released on Amazon Prime Video, Deepika Padukone's husband, Ranveer Singh, couldn't stop praising his ladylove. He shared a mushy photo with Deepika on his Instagram handle and penned an appreciation note to the actress. In his post, Ranveer used words like 'transcendent', 'superlative' and 'sublime' to praise Deepika for her performance. And now, in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Deepika stated that she questioned the adjectives her hubby used to praise her.
In an interview with IndiaToday.in, Deepika stated that Ranveer usually praises all of her work. At the same time, he will also not mince his words if there's something he doesn't like or feels that the actress could have done better.
"But with Gehraiyaan, specifically some of the adjectives (transcendent, superlative and sublime) he has used, I had to ask him, 'are you saying because you love me or are you being objective'? And he said, 'no I am being objective about this', which I appreciate. I didn't expect that kind of love and appreciation for my performance, to be honest. I approached it like any other film of mine, with the same conviction and the same honesty. But it's something that just clicked, something that worked more than some other characters and that's why I am here and I am grateful," said Deepika.
Prior to the release of Gehraiyaan, Deepika was seen with Ranveer Singh in Kabir Khan's 83. While Ranveer played the role of Kapil Dev, Deepika essayed the part of his wife, Romi Bhatia. As actors, Deepika and Ranveer worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movies, Ram Leela, Bajrao Mastani and Padmaavat.
Next, Deepika has as many as five mega projects lined up, including Project K, Fighter, Pathan, The Intern and an untitled movie with Madhu Mantena.
