Actor and farm activist Deep Sidhu’s body reached his hometown of Ludhiana in Punjab on Wednesday afternoon. Hundreds of fans and supporters assembled outside his residence to pay homage.
Onlookers could be seen jostling to catch a final glimpse of Deep Sidhu as his body was brought into the residence in the back of a car. People were seen bearing placards of the actor-activist and shouting slogans like ‘long live Deep Sidhu’.
Punjabi actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu, accused of being the key conspirator of the Red Fort violence on Republic Day last year, died Tuesday evening after his car rammed into a truck on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway in Haryana's Sonipat district.

The 37-year-old actor was said to be travelling from Delhi to Punjab with a female friend when the incident occurred near Pipli toll plaza in Kharkhoda, around 25 km from Singhu border, the epicentre of last year's farmers' protest against farm laws.
An investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident was underway, police said.
Sidhu had participated in the farmers' agitation against the Centre's three farm laws at the Delhi borders.
