India Today
The Nitish Kumar-led delegation met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to push for enumerating caste population in the census. In simpler terms, they want to know how many OBC (Other Backward Class) voters are there in Bihar in particular or the country in general.
The coming together of the Janata Dal-United (JDU) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in 2015 was called the grand alliance of Bihar to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar led a delegation of 11 members to PM Narendra Modi demanding caste census. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who was the deputy chief minister under Nitish Kumar during the grand alliance phase in Bihar, was also part of the delegation.More Related News
