For the first time since Team India heartbreaking defeat in the Cricket World Cup 2023, skipper Rohit Sharma took to social media to share his pain with fans. Despite winning 10 matches on the trot in the tournament, India lost the final to Australia, courtesy of Travis Head's century in Ahmedabad. Since the conclusion of the tournament, Rohit stayed away from social media and even opted out of the ODI and T20I assignments against South Africa. However, the India captain has now broken his silence on the matter, saying he just didn't know how to get over the heartache.
In a candid yet emotional chat on Instagram, Rohit admitted that he didn't quite know how to overcome the heartbreak of World Cup final loss, especially considering the way India played until the final. In his own words, the India skipper conceded that he found it hard to move on but decided that he needed to go somewhere to take his mind off.

"I had no idea how to come back from this the first few days. I don't know what to do. You know, my family, my friends kept me going, kept things pretty light around me, which was quite helpful. It wasn't easy to digest, but yeah, life moves on. You have to move on in life. But honestly, it was tough. It was not. It was not so easy to just move on. I've always grown up watching 50 over World Cup and to me that was, you know, the ultimate prize, the 50 over World Cup.
