De Blasio won’t say if NYC will offer virtual learning next school year

Mayor Bill de Blasio hedged Friday when asked if the Big Apple’s public schools will continue to offer virtual learning options next school year, adding to a string of recent comments from city officials that cast doubt over the return of the program as they try to get kids back into classrooms.
“We’ll talk to parents and we’ll talk to health experts and we’ve got a lot of time to make adjustments as we go along,” de Blasio told WNYC host Brian Lehrer, “but the plan is for every child to be back in school.” When pressed by the radio host on whether that meant there wouldn’t be virtual learning options for parents still nervous about the coronavirus pandemic, de Blasio dodged.More Related News
