The Delhi Commission for Women has issued a notice to Delhi Police seeking the registration of an FIR in the matter of online rape threats to cricketer Virat Kohli's daughter.

The commission took suo motu cognisance of media reports which stated that rape threats are being given to the nine-month-old daughter of Indian men’s cricket team captain Virat Kohli ever since India lost the T20 World Cup match against Pakistan. Following the defeat, Kohli voiced support for teammate and Indian pacer Mohammad Shami who was at the receiving end of online abuse and trolling.
