DC vs RR: Knew bowlers we needed to target - Devdutt Padikkal after Rajasthan record highest total in IPL 2022

Jos Buttler’s stunning 116 paired with Devdutt Padikkal’s breezy half century took Rajasthan to a huge total against DC on Friday, 22 April.
Rajasthan Royals recorded the highest total in the Indian Premier League this season, hitting Delhi Capitals for 222 runs in their registered 20 overs. The majority of the workload was shared between two batsmen- Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 155 runs between them.
The pair started slowly owing to some great presentation of swing bowling from Khaleel Ahmed and Shardul Thakur, but took on the DC attack after the initial movement died down. In the process, Buttler recorded his third century of the season, smashing it all over the park to bring his feat up in just 57 balls.
Speaking in the mid-innings interview, Devdutt Padikkal, who played the perfect second fiddle to Buttler and scored 54 off 35 himself, revealed what the two were talking about in the middle of the innings.
“I asked him ‘Is it that easy to bat?’” joked Padikkal after Rajasthan’s innings ended.
He further added that the two of them knew which bowlers to target and came into bat with a set plan.
Jos Buttler has been head and shoulders above the rest of the players and already has 491 runs from seven matches. He is well on course for matching Virat Kohli’s four century season and, at this rate, might overtake him as well.
