IPL 2022, DC vs PBKS: Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant recalled the nervous build-up to Wednesday's game after positive Covid-19 cases in their camp.
Rishabh Pant on Wednesday conceded there was confusion in the Delhi Capitals camp after an array of Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the lead up to their crunch IPL 2022 match against Punjab Kings in Mumbai. Delhi were initially set to face Punjab in Pune but the match was shifted to Mumbai after Mitchell Marsh and a few other members of the support staff tested positive for the virus on Monday.
While Mitchell Marsh was hospitalised, Delhi aborted their travel plans from Mumbai to Pune and entered quarantine.on Monday. Hours ahead of their match on Wednesday, there was plenty of chaos as another overseas player in Tim Seifert tested positive for Covid-19. Delhi Capitals players had to undergo another round of RT-PCR testing even as Wednesday's game was in doubt.

However, Delhi and Punjab players took the field on Wednesday after the BCCI confirmed that the rest of the Delhi Capitals players had returned negative results in Wednesday's RT-PCR tests.
Delhi Capitals overcame the Covid-19 scare and put up a sensational show with both bat and ball, hammering Punjab Kings by 9 wickets and registering their biggest win (in terms of balls remaining). Pant led the team from the front, being as chirpy as ever from behind the wickets.
Pant said Delhi Capitals players huddled up amid all the outside noise and panic and decided to focus on the match.
"Obviously, there was confusion in our camp because in the morning we got to know that Tim (Seifert) is also positive.
