Daughter of Agriculture Assistant Directors clears UPSC examination, bags Rank 187

Sonali Singh Parmar, whose parents work as Assistant Directors in the Agriculture Department, cleared the UPSC Civil Services examination while bagging the 187th rank.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results for Civil Services Examination 2021, on Monday. Sonali Singh Parmar, a resident of Sehore too, had her name on the list of selected candidates and has achieved an All India Rank of 187. Both of her parents serve as Assistant Directors in the Agriculture Department. Sonali Singh Parmar said that she had seen administrative officers visiting her home since childhood, and therefore, it was her childhood dream to become an officer.
As both of Sonali’s parents are working for the Agriculture Department, Sonali too graduated with a B Sc Agriculture degree from Agriculture University.
Sonali also informed that she had completed her schooling till Class 8 in Sehore, whereas she studied in Bhopal till Class 12 after that.
Sonali Singh Parmar further said that she used to study for 10-12 hours every day and that during this time she kept a complete distance from the phone.
She further said that IAS Preeti Maithil Nayak, Director of Agriculture Department, is her role model and that her tips came in handy during UPSC preparation, eventually helping her with clearing UPSC at the first attempt.
Sonali further said that she used to read newspapers daily for information about current affairs and kept herself aware of every movement of the country and the world.
Sonali's grandfather, Mathura Prasad, said that the daughter of his house had brought laurels to the family and the district, while adding that it was a very happy moment that the daughter of his house had been selected.
