Danish Siddiqui Didn't Seek Our Nod, Killed In Crossfire: Taliban To NDTV

In an interview, Muhammad Sohail Shaheen said the Taliban has taken control of "90 per cent" of Afghanistan.
Photojournalist Danish Siddiqui was killed in crossfire and his fault was to not coordinate with the Taliban, a spokesperson told NDTV on Friday as the group made rapid advances in Afghanistan, taking control of key cities including Herat and Kandahar. In an interview, Muhammad Sohail Shaheen said the Taliban has taken control of "90 per cent" of Afghanistan. Asked about Danish Siddiqui, the Pultizer-winning photojournalist killed while covering a clash between Afghan security forces and the Taliban, the spokesperson said it was wrong to say he was killed by Taliban fighters. "You can't say he was killed by our fighters. Ask why he didn't coordinate with us. We have announced to journalists not once but many times that when they come to our places, please coordinate with us and we will provide you security," Muhammad Shaheen said.More Related News
