Dalit youth assaulted in Karnataka’s Mysuru, says he was beaten up for using temple road

Mahesh, a member of the Adi Karnataka community, claimed that he was assaulted by Lingayat community members for using a road adjacent to a temple.

A 29-year-old Dalit man has claimed that he was beaten up on Monday for using a public road connecting a newly constructed temple in a village in Karnataka’s Mysuru district.

He alleged that the assaulters were from the Lingayat community. The victim has been identified as Mahesh, belonging to the Adi Karnataka community.
