Dalit teen found hanging in UP juvenile home after being thrashed by upper caste inmates

A 16-year-old Dalit boy was found hanging in the bathroom of a juvenile home in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district on Monday. His family has alleged that he was regularly thrashed by upper caste inmates before his demise. 

A 16-year-old Dalit boy was found hanging in the bathroom of a juvenile home in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district on Monday. His family has alleged that he was brutally beaten up by upper caste inmates of the juvenile home before his demise. "On Monday, around 5 pm, I got a call telling me my son had hanged himself. But I am certain he was murdered," the boy's father, who works as a hawker, said in his police complaint, as quoted by The Times of India.
