Dak Prescott won’t face charges in 2017 sexual assault case

Dallas police will not pursue criminal charges against Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott over allegations made by a woman of sexual assault against him, according to multiple reports.
Law enforcement did not find evidence that backed up the woman’s claim, and the district attorney’s office said that it has no case, according to WFAA.
The lawyer for the woman confirmed to KDFW FOX 4 News’ Steven Dial that the Dallas Police Department wasn’t pursuing criminal charges but insisted this wasn’t the end of the matter.
“We thank DPD for their efforts and this is in no way an exoneration of Mr. Prescott,” the lawyer said in a statement.
The allegations stem from an alleged incident on Feb. 2, 2017, in the parking lot of XTC Cabaret, though the criminal complaint was filed this March after Prescott had filed a lawsuit against Victoria Shores and her legal team that claimed they were trying to extort him of $100 million.
The accuser’s attorneys filed a motion Monday to dismiss Prescott’s suit and claimed that it was “meant to silence his sexual assault victim” and “is in violation of Texas’s Anti Slapp Statute which prohibits different forms of retaliatory lawsuits.”
The first day of the rest of Daniel Jones’ dwindling time with the Giants arrived Wednesday, with Jones in the building, in the meetings, on the practice field (although not doing very much) and not at all part of the game plan for the next game, relegated to a non-participant role for the remainder of the season.
