Cyclone Yaas has caused severe damage to the Sunderban Tiger Reserve and inundated breeding centres for crocodiles and a rare species of turtle.

The majority of the 40 protection camps used by the forest department personnel in the Sunderbans were also inundated following a downpour induced by the cyclone on Wednesday, Chief Wildlife Warden V K Yadav said. "Since most of the area is underwater now, it is difficult to ascertain actual damage," Yadav told PTI.More Related News
