Cyclone Tauktae which has formed over the Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep, will concentrate over the same region by Saturday morning and further intensify into a cyclonic storm on Sunday, triggering heavy rains in southern parts of the country.
A low pressure area or a cyclonic disturbance has formed over Lakshadweep and the Arabian Sea which will gradually intensify into a cyclonic storm by Sunday (May 16). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain warning in parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat in view of the rapid intensification of Cyclone Tauktae.
