Cyclone Tauktae: Gujarat govt seeks Rs 9,836 crore aid from Centre

The Gujarat government has sought Rs 9,836 crore aid from the Centre to carry out relief works in areas impacted by cyclone Tauktae.

Gujarat government has sought relief assistance of Rs 9,836 crore from the Center under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) against losses caused by cyclone Tauktae that had hit the state list month. Cyclone Tauktae had hit Gujarat coast in Saurashtra between Diu and Una, causing widespread damage in the state. A memorandum detailing damages caused to crops, trees, houses, roads, electricity, marine infrastructure, etc has been prepared by the state government and has been submitted to the Centre.
