
Cultural performances mark Sankranti celebrations at DPS

DPS Ukkunagaram campus celebrates Sankranti with cultural performances, Pongal rituals, and release of annual school magazine.
The Delhi Public School (DPS) orgnaised the Sankranti celebrations on its Ukkunagaram campus of Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant on Thursday.
RINL-VSP Director (Personnel) S.C Pandey inaugurated the celebrations as the chief guest.
The programme revolved around the theme of Pedda Panduga, emphasising the significance of Pongal as a harvest festival. Cultural performances, traditional dances, songs, and rituals associated with Pongal were organised.
Mr. Pandey released the annual school magazine titled ‘Aurora Australis’ which encapsulated creativity, achievements, and spirit of the school.
Principal Samir Kumar Pandey gave an introduction of the magazine, highlighting the creative efforts of students and staff.
Mr. Pandey appreciated the school for upholding the cultural values and tradition by organising such celebrations. Participation of students, their parents and teachers made the event a success.

Over 3,000 cases against children for abandoning aged parents in Karnataka. A Union Government law allows for filing of cases in AC courts against children who abandon their elderly parents. There is the option of collecting maintenance charges from children who do not take care of their elderly parents. There is also the option of withdrawing assets transferred or bequeathed in the name of the children.
