CSK vs SRH, IPL 2022: Fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment over Ruturaj Gaikwad's dismal run with the bat in IPL 2022 after the CSK opener was dismissed for 16 by T Natarajan.
IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner Ruturak Gaikwad flopped again as he was dismissed for 15 of 11 balls in Chennai Super Kings' IPL 2022 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday. Gaikwad, last edition’s leading scorer, has struggled with his footwork and his scores of 0, 1,1 and 16 have put CSK under pressure at the top.
The Maharashtra batter, who had scored 635 runs across 16 matches in 2021, failed to find his rhythm against the Sunrisers. In the four knocks he has played in IPL 2022, he has been dismissed by fast bowling thrice. Against Umesh Yadav, he had an uncharacteristic waft at a wide delivery and was caught at first slip.
Two games later, he prodded at a delivery he should have played closer to his body. It resulted in another nick to first slip, with the Punjab Kings being the beneficiaries. However, on Saturday, Ruturaj Gaikwad looked to drive it away but missed it completely as the ball sneaked between his bat and blade.
Many cricket fans on Twitter were left disappointed with Ruturaj's fourth successive failure in the ongoing season, while some trolled the CSK opener, saying that he is one season wonder and has lost his spark.
