IPL 2022, CSK vs RCB: In a heartwarming gesture, Royal Challengers Bangalore players were seen sporting black armbands as they took the field in Mumbai against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday to honour Harshal Patel’s sister, who passed away last week.
Royal Challengers Bangalore players, including captain Faf du Plessis, were seen sporting black armbands in honour of their teammate Harshal Patel’s sister, who died earlier last week, during their IPL 2022 match against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday, April 12.
RCB stars, including captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, were seen sporting black armbands as they won the toss and opted to bowl against CSK at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
Harshal Patel had exited the RCB bio-bubble hours after their win over 5-time champions Mumbai Indians on Saturday in Pune. Harshal came to know about the unfortunate incident only after the game against MI, which RCB won to register their 3rd successive victory.

Harshal, according to sources, was set to rejoin the RCB camp ahead of the match against Chennai Super Kings. He would be required to complete a mandatory 3-day quarantine and return a negative RT-PCR test for Covid-19 before joining the team bio-bubble.
Harshal Patel began IPL 2022 for RCB on a strong note, picking up 6 wickets in just 4 matches. The Purple Cap holder from last season was bought by RCB for Rs 10.75 crore after not managing to retain him before the mega auction. On Tuesday, young Suyash Prabudesai replaced Harshal in the playing XI for RCB against CSK. RCB also handed Josh Hazlewood, who had played an integral role in CSK’s winning run last season, a debut in place of David Willy.
