Captain's armband which Cristiano Ronaldo took out and threw away in rage during Portugal's World Cup 2022 qualifying match against Serbia, has been put up on auction to help a 6-month-old boy suffering from a rare disease.

Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo were denied a late winner due to lack of technology (no VAR) in use in their World Cup 2022 qualifying match as Serbia held them to a 2-2 draw on Saturday. The ball had appeared to cross the goalline before being cleared by an opposing defender. Star striker and Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo could not hide his frustration and was booked for protesting before leaving the field fuming seconds before the final whistle. He also threw away the captain's armband while heading towards the tunnel.
