Manchester United and Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo the death of his baby boy in an emotional note on social media. Ronaldo has also asked for privacy as he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez deal with the loss.
Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo on Monday announced that he and his long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez lost their baby boy. Ronaldo took to social media and asked for privacy as their family is dealing with the death of the baby boy.
Ronaldo and Georgina had taken to social media earlier to confirm they were going to become parents to twin babies. The Manchester United footballer said in his post on Monday that the birth of the baby girl has only given them the strength to deal with the pain of losing the boy.
Ronaldo is father to four other children, Cristiano Jr, Mateo, and daughters Eva and Alana.
"It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel," Ronaldo wrote in social media post.
"Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.
"We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time."
Ronaldo, who returned to Old Trafford ahead of the ongoing season, has scored 15 goals in the Premier League. The 37-year-old had netted his 60th career hat-trick over the weekend when he helped United beat Norwich City.
