Few details are available, but the Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) communications Twitter account for the northeast region said the roadway is closed because of a collision.
“Highway 101 is closed in both directions between Highway 144 (in) Timmins and Foleyet,” read the tweet.
Photos shared on the Skilled Truckers Canada social media page show a vehilce under a commercial dump trailer.
OPP advised of the closure a about 12:45 p.m.
The Ministry of Transportation’s 511 Map indicates all lanes of Highway 101 are closed between the Highway 144 turn off and Young Street in Foleyet.
Officials have not provided any viable detours.
