They enthral people with songs and slogans
In their mid-50s and 70s, a group of CPI(M) supporters from West Bengal lit up the mood outside the E.K. Nayanar Academy, the venue of the CPI(M)‘s 23rd party congress in Kannur, by enthralling people with slogans and songs on Thursday.
The group which came from North Dum Dum of 24 Paraganas in West Bengal charged people with energy as they shouted ‘Inquilab Zindabad’. The songs of Rabindranath Tagore, John Henry, and others that reminded of the struggle and revolution further instilled joy as people gathered around them with enthusiasm.
Sixty-eight-year-old Mohitosh Pramanick, a member of the group, said they were a team of 15 persons who had visited the venues of party congresses. The group had attended four party congresses in Andhra Pradesh, Kozhikode, and Visakhapatnam earlier.
“We are not delegates. But we attend every Party Congress, where we sing and spread the message of Communism. Besides entertaining people, we convey the message of unity and equality,” he said.
“We take care of our expenses and stay near the venue till the Party Congress concludes,” said Pintu Chakravarthy, another senior member of the group.
