Covishield, Covaxin to drive India's 136-crore vaccine dose goal between August and December

The Centre has said that between August and December 2021, a total of 136 crore doses of Covishield and Covaxin vaccines will be available in India.

The government has said that more than 136 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines are expected to be available in India in the next four months with Covishield and Covaxin driving the country’s vaccination programme. In a note on the vaccination targets, the Centre has listed details of India’s vaccine production and distribution targets. The note titled ‘Covid-19 Public Health Response Pro-active, Pre-emptive and Graded Response guided by Epidemiological & Scientific Rigour’ also gives details on India vaccine production targets given to MPs from the Prime Minister’s Office.
