Covid facility to come up at Karnataka's Hutti Gold Mines; mining activity stalled

The Mines and Geology Minister of Karnataka has instructed authorities at the Hutti Gold Mines hospital to equip 40 beds with medical oxygen for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.

In an effort to help employees of the Hutti Gold Mines in Karnataka's Raichur and people in surrounding villages amid the growing number of Covid-19 cases, Mines and Geology Minister Murugesh R Nirani is planning to set up a Covid Care Centre (CCC) in the vicinity. The minister is said to be considering two options to set up the CCC. The first option is to convert the community hall (convention centre) of the Hutti Gold Mines into a CCC. This would help the employees, their families and surrounding villagers affected by the pandemic.
