COVID-19 vaccine will not protect against influenza, says senior official

A senior health official has emphasized on the importance of taking both vaccines, the one against flu and COVID-19.   

In a video posted on Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) social media handles Dr Soha Al Bayat, Head of Vaccination, MoPH said that it is important to take the flu vaccine to protect oneself from influenza, thereby reducing the burden on the health system.  “With the winter season fast approaching it also means it also means the season for in influenza. Influenza is not a simple disease as some may think; it actually causes admission of hundreds of thousands of people across the world. And unfortunately it also leads to the death of some,” said Dr. Al Bayat.
