COVID-19: LHSC has 22 COVID inpatients, MLHU reports 40 cases

As of March 19, 90.9 per cent of residents in the MLHU region age five and older have had at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, up from 90.8 per cent a week prior.

London Health Sciences Centre reported Tuesday that it was caring for 22 inpatients with COVID-19, an increase of one from the day before.
Of those, five or fewer are in adult critical care or intensive care, a figure unchanged.
LHSC says five or fewer of its COVID-19 inpatients are in Children’s Hospital, while zero are in pediatric critical care, also unchanged.
Of the 22 inpatients with COVID-19, 12 are being treated for COVID-19 while 10 are being treated for something other than COVID-19 but were found to have an incidental infection.
The organization says at least 167 staff were positive for COVID-19 as of Tuesday, up eight from Monday.
At St. Joseph’s Health Care London, there are 76 health-care workers with active cases of COVID-19 and one patient or resident case, at Parkwood Institute Main Building.
On Tuesday, the MLHU reported zero deaths and 40 new lab-confirmed cases.
