Note: Quebec's Health Ministry does not publish the number of vaccine doses administered over the weekend.
Health Minister Christian Dubé is expected to provide an update on Quebec's COVID-19 vaccination campaign at a 1 p.m. news conference today.
According to Radio-Canada, Dubé is going to unveil details on third doses of the vaccine for seniors, including those in vulnerable living environments, such as long-term care homes and seniors' residences.
Dubé will be joined by the province's public health director, Dr. Horacio Arruda and Daniel Paré, the head of the province's vaccination campaign.
Some 84 per cent of Quebecers 12 and older are considered fully vaccinated, according to the province's health ministry.
Yesterday, Quebec recorded the lowest case count in three weeks and no additional deaths. One expert says there is reason to expect the province has passed the peak of the fourth wave.
"There's optimistic signs, when you look at the numbers, that we're at the peak, that we flattened the curve, if you will, this time with vaccines, instead of with public health measures," said Dr. Donald Sheppard, the director of the McGill interdisciplinary initiative in infection and immunity on Monday.
