Note: Quebec's Health Ministry does not publish the number of vaccine doses administered over the weekend.
Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé says he's pleased with the province's latest vaccination data, but he wants to see more. According to the latest daily update, 82 per cent of eligible Quebecers have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. "It's encouraging to see this increase," Dubé tweeted Monday. "We have to keep going to reach a minimum of 88 per cent, just like the first dose [vaccination rate]." As Quebec reports thousands of newly administered doses on a daily basis, the number of hospitalizations related to the coronavirus has also shot up in recent weeks. There are currently 227 people in hospital due to COVID-19 — the province's highest number since June 12. Seventy-two Quebec schools have begun using rapid testing to detect COVID-19 cases, but there's uncertainty about how tests will be administered.More Related News
