COVID-19 in Quebec: What you need to know Monday
CBC
Note: Quebec's Health Ministry does not publish the number of vaccine doses administered over the weekend.
Starting today, people living in private seniors' residences in a number of regions in Quebec will have to wear masks in common areas.
The order affects homes where residents have more autonomy than in long-term care homes.
They include Montreal, Laval, the Townships, the Laurentians, the Mauricie, central-Quebec, and the Lanaudiere and Outaouais, all regions with higher transmission rates.
Residents will have to wear masks when they move about in the hallways, elevators, and common areas indoors.
Health officials said there were 67 active cases of COVID-19 at private seniors' residents across the province. Nearly half those cases were linked to an outbreak at Manoir Gouin in Montreal, where 32 residents have active cases of COVID-19, and three have died.
There have been no other deaths linked to active COVID-19 outbreaks in Quebec private seniors' homes, where people live with more autonomy than in long-term care homes, known as CHSLDs.
