Correcting myopic approach: Patna HC asks Bihar govt to update daily Covid-19 deaths on digital portal
India Today
The Patna High Court’s remarks come as the Bihar government is accused of under-reporting Covid-19 deaths in the state.
The Patna High Court on Friday came down heavily on the Bihar government, observing that the state was reluctant to put in the public domain the number of fatalities that have taken place in the state due to Covid-19. A division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice S Kumar questioned whether the people of Bihar have a right to know how many people died due to Covid-19 in the last one year. Passing a detailed judgment, the high court ordered the state government to upload the number of deaths and births on its online portal under Digital India and National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy, 2012.More Related News
