Cop killed, brother seriously injured after militants open fire in J&K's Budgam

An SPO was killed and his brother seriously wounded after unidentified militants opened fire at them in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district on Saturday.
Unidentified militants opened fire on a Special Police Officer (SPO) and his brother in the Chattabugh village of Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district on Saturday. The SPO later succumbed to his wounds.
His brother is undergoing treatment at JVC Hospital in Srinagar.
Official sources said the militants fired upon siblings Ishfiq Ahmad Dar (26), posted as SPO in Budgam, and his brother Umar Ahmad Dar (23), who is a student, injuring them seriously.
Security forces cordoned off the area where the brothers were attacked and have launched a search operation for the perpetrators.
In a separate incident, two explosions were reported in the Kotranka subdivision of Rajouri district on Saturday evening. The cause of the blasts is being ascertained.
