BRS accuses Congress and BJP of colluding to weaken leadership, highlighting cooperative federalism between Congress and NDA.
HYDERABAD
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has alleged that both the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been working with a single-point agenda of weakening BRS and the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and it is repeatedly getting evident how the two parties have been coming to the rescue of one another in the State.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, former minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, former MLA A. Venkateshwar Reddy and others said there was strong cooperative federalism between the Congress government in the State and the NDA government at the Centre on all issues, including protecting each other politically. That was the reason why the Centre had deployed an Enforcement Directorate probe into the Formula-E race case immediately after a case was booked by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the State.
The Congress government was deflecting all issues and promises being raised by the BRS, conveniently onto the previous KCR government. Mr. Niranjan Reddy alleged that the government had given the responsibility of paying Rythu Bharosa benefit only to the farmers who raise crops this season but most of the ayacut in the combined Mahabubnagar district was not being given water for the second crop creating a situation for denial of both Rythu Bharosa and bonus.
Mr. Niranjan Reddy demanded the government make public the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Rythu Bandhu ‘misuse’ or stop blaming the BRS. “What happened to the digital survey and remote sensing data that the government was pushing for,” he asked. He stated that the investment support extended to the farming community was not just a support to them but to the country itself.
