New Continental CrossContact AX6 all-terrain SUV tyres offer excellent durability and low noise as well as shorter braking distance on wet roads the company claims.
Continental Tires has launched a new range of tyres for SUVs in India. The Continental CrossContact AX6 SUV tyres offer durability, low noise and improved tread for control and performance meant for rough roads and wet conditions. The launch will capitalise on the growing SUV market in India, currently standing at 38 per cent of all cars sold in India.
The demand for high-performance tyres for SUVs in India has been ever-growing, and the CrossContact AX6 tyres are a perfect match for rough use on Indian roads. Superior grip on loose surfaces, improved traction off the road and effective braking even in wet without compromising on ride comfort, noise and durability is what the company claims.
“The CrossContact AX6 tyres are designed specifically keeping in mind the various conditions found both on-road and off-road. The tyres are highly suitable for markets like India, which feature various geographies, road conditions, and growing SUV demand. They are a perfect fit for any driver who spends most of their time on the road but requires more traction when heading off the beaten track,” said Samir Gupta, MD Continental India on the new launch.
Continental has engineered these tyres to have enhanced off-road traction. To do this, the open tread pattern maximises the edges and contact area, thus providing improved traction. Traction grooves with gripping teeth dig into the surface, and on loose surfaces reducing loss of traction. The silica tread compound and polymer structure provides excellent traction both on and off-road and provide an extra edge in wet conditions.
Durability is an important aspect of any tyre, more so for SUV tyres that undergo rough usage. The Continental CrossContact AX6 comes with large tread blocks and tough tread compound that reduces stone retention and resists cuts and damage. Tyre shoulders have been designed with noise blockers that minimise sound waves providing a quiet ride.
The Continental CrossContact AX6 tyre has been on sale in international markets and has received positive feedback. In India, the boom of SUVs has not only led to almost every automaker introducing their own SUVs in every segment but also led to the demand for tyres that are able to match the performance of these machines.
