
Constable on duty thrashed by 4 men inside Lucknow police station

A constable on duty in Lucknow's PGI police station was thrashed by four drunk men after he tried to confront them for creating a ruckus inside the police station.
Police arrested four men after they allegedly thrashed and pointed out a gun at an on-duty constable inside Lucknow police station. The accused were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
It was late at night, around 2 PM that four men identified as Saroj Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Shubham Singh and Ankit Singh reached Lucknow's PGI police station in an inebriated state and created a ruckus.
The accused were intercepted by the constable, Rahul Kumar, who was on duty. Furious, the men first abused Rahul and then pointed out a pistol at him. When Rahul protested, the accused thrashed him.
According to the police, all the four accused had come to strike a settlement in a rape case.
According to Commissioner DK Thakur, a man named Sarvesh who lives in Babu Kheda was accused of raping a young woman and a case had been registered against him.
While an investigation was on in the matter, the four accused reached the police station and attacked the constable.
All the four accused have been arrested in connection with the matter.
