Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has denied the allegations made by Swapna Suresh in the gold smuggling case and called it a 'conspiracy' with a motive to create political instability.
Communist Party of India (Marxist) Kerala state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has denied the allegations made by Swapna Suresh in the gold smuggling case. On Friday, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that Swapna Suresh's revelation was part of a conspiracy and had a motive to create political instability.
“There are attempts from the beginning to involve the Kerala chief minister in the gold smuggling case. Now attempting to trap the chief minister and his family too. The government should investigate the conspiracy”, CPI(M) Kerala state secretary demanded.
“Disclosing a confidential statement given in court is unusual. There are many contradictions in the first and latest secret statements given by Swapna Suresh," Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said.
“In the beginning, Swapna Suresh said that M Sivasankar, the former principal secretary to the Kerala chief minister, was not involved in the gold smuggling. A year and a half ago, she said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had no connection but there was pressure to make a statement against him. But now she says differently” Kodiyeri Balakrishnan added to his point.
“Now she is saying that the gold was smuggled in Biryani vessels. This is all part of the conspiracy. A detailed investigation is needed into this”, the CPI(M) state secretary said.
“Pinarayi Vijayan is not the first Chief Minister facing allegations. Earlier, it was alleged that a company were registered as ‘Kamala International’ in the name of CM's wife. It was a story. Pinarayi Vijayan is a person who overcomes all such allegations. The CPI(M) will not intend to succumb to lies. Kerala Chief Minister will not resign, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan further added.
Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has denied allegations that the funds of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI(M) Kerala state secretary were transferred through the Believers Church.
