Conservatives projected to retain most Sask. seats as early results come in

The Conservatives are projected to retain most of the seats in Saskatchewan, according to early voting results in the 2021 federal election.
The Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan, Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek, Battlefords-Lloydminster, Souris-Moose Mountain, Yorkton-Melville, Prince Albert, Cypress Hills-Grasslands, Saskatoon-Grasswood, Regina-Wascana, Desnethé-Missinippi-Churchill River and Regina-Qu'Appelle ridings are all projected to remain within the Conservatives' grasp.
Three races — Regina-Lewvan, Saskatoon-University and Saskatoon West — have yet to be decided.
Two years ago, the Conservative Party swept all 14 Saskatchewan seats.
The main tension point this year is whether the Conservatives will retain the monopoly, or if gaps in the armour will appear during this pandemic-themed election.
Maxime Bernier, the leader of the People's Party of Canada (PPC), lost in the Quebec riding of Beauce, but is at the Saskatoon Inn ballroom to watch the voting results unfold along with some local Saskatchewan PPC candidates.
Bernier's return to the province comes just over two weeks after he was egged during a campaign event at a Saskatoon hotel on Sept. 2.
