Conservative Party of Canada Leader Pierre Poilievre is set to make his first campaign visit to Prince Edward Island on Tuesday.
Poilievre has two events scheduled on the Island: a photo opportunity at the Local Pub and Oyster Bar in Charlottetown at 3:30 p.m. and a Canada First Rally at the former McCain Foods plant in Borden-Carleton at 6:30 p.m.
Poilievre's visit to P.E.I. will be the first from a federal leader since the election campaign began last week.
The party's deputy leader, Melissa Lantsman, visited the Island on the first day of the election campaign to deliver an announcement about the Conservatives' pledge to eliminate tolls on the Confederation Bridge.
That announcement came days after P.E.I. Premier Rob Lantz said Liberal Leader Mark Carney made a verbal commitment to deliver "positive news" to Islanders regarding tolls on the bridge and fees for the Northumberland ferry service just before the election campaign kicked off.
