Conman dupes Gurudwara priest after promising him chance to sing in US, arrested

Delhi Cyber Police arrested a conman from Indore who had duped a Gurudwara priest by claiming to offer him an opportunity to sing in the US. He asked the victim to transfer Rs 1.25 lakh as payment for visa and foreign exchange, among other charges.
Continuing the drive against cyber fraudsters, Delhi Cyber Police arrested a conman from Indore, Madhya Pradesh who duped the priest of a Gurudwara under the pretext of offering him an opportunity to sing in the United States of America.
The victim, 50-year-old Baldev Singh, in his complaint, alleged he was contacted by a person. The accused had claimed to provide him opportunities to sing at weddings and other cultural occasions in various cities in the United States of America.
Induced by this, the victim transferred Rs 1.25 lakhs to bank accounts provided by the accused. The complainant was also duped under the pretext of payment for a visa. Later on, the complainant found out that he was duped by the accused.
A dedicated police team was assigned to identify the accused and arrest the culprits. Technical analysis of the call and the money showed that the accused was operating from various locations in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Raids were conducted at various locations in Indore. Cameras installed from where money was withdrawn identified the accused as 51-year-old Sanjay Yadav. He was arrested on Saturday, August 6.
