Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi has resigned from the Haryana Assembly and is all set to join the BJP on Thursday.
Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi on Wednesday resigned from the Haryana Assembly. He is all set to join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday.
Accompanied by his wife Renuka Bishnoi and his cousin brother Dura Ram, Kuldeep Bishnoi met the Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and submitted his resignation.
After submitting the resignation, Kuldeep Bishnoi said, "In view of public sentiments of my workers in Punjab and Haryana, I have decided to join the BJP. The present Congress party has not been the Congress of Indira and Rajiv Gandhi. It has strayed from its ideology. It is moving towards elimination due to wrong decisions of Congress across the country."
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kuldeep Bishnoi said that he is the best Prime Minister of the country till date, under whose leadership the country is progressing a lot. He also said that he is very influenced by the thinking of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and that is why he's joining the BJP.
Kuldeep Bishnoi said that when he will join the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi on Thursday, other former MLAs of Haryana will also join him.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Bishnoi, after quitting as MLA from the Adampur constituency in Haryana, also challenged Bhupinder Singh Hooda to contest and win the seat vacated by him.
On the question of a broken alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the past, Kuldeep Bishnoi said that there is "often estrangement in a family too".
