Gujarat Congress leader Bharatsinh Solanki, who was caught with another woman by his wife, returned to politics after taking a short break.
Senior Gujarat Congress leader and former Union minister Bharatsinh Solanki on Friday returned to state politics after taking a short break. The Congress leader had announced he was taking a break from active politics for a few months amid a troubled marriage and after a video went viral. He was accused of infidelity by his wife.
Two months back, the Congress leader was caught red-handed by his wife, Reshma Patel, spending time with another woman in his bungalow in Anand, Gujarat. A video of the incident also surfaced and it went viral following which he took a break. His wife had accused him of resorting to domestic violence and having an extramarital affair.
In an exclusive interview with India Today TV/AajTak, Bharatsinh spoke on the future and strategy of Congress and expressed his views on Rewadi culture.
"There is nothing like a break in politics. Politics does not stop and it goes on. Today it is me. Someday it will be someone else. The current situation in our country is very bad. There are so many issues of unemployment, crime and hate politics," the Congress leader told India Today.
Solanki had said he filed for divorce and alleged his estranged wife, whom he married in 1999, was interested in his property and posed a danger to his life.

Hitting out at BJP, two-time Gujarat Congress president Bharatsingh Solanki said, "BJP is the most corrupt party. The BJP is here only to divide people like Britishers. Congress has done a lot of work for the people of our country. The BJP cannot even count the work done by Congress. The BJP is a commission-based party. Even for building bridges, they have their commission fixed."
