Congress’ Pramod Krishnam slams 'more liberal' colleagues over Shivling jibe

Pramod Krishnam said some Congress leaders are mocking the Shivling reportedly found inside Gyanvapi mosque 'in an attempt to show themselves as more liberal'.
‘Shivling’ cannot be called ‘tamasha’, Congress veteran and ‘spiritual guru’ Pramod Krishnam said, veering away from the party line and strongly criticizing his colleagues over their comments on the Gyanvapi case.
“Be it SP leader Akhilesh Yadav or Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, 'Shivling' cannot be termed as 'tamasha'. This is a matter of faith. Unfortunately, some leaders of our party, in an attempt to show themselves as more liberal, are making fun of 'Shivling',” the leader told news agency ANI.

“The BJP is creating a new drama in the country on the issue of Varanasi’s Gyanvapi mosque. The BJP has no faith in democracy. Its leaders are doing politics wearing the mask of democracy. The policies, programmes, and principles of these people are going to ruin the country," Gehlot was quoted as saying by news agency PTI, days after a ‘Shivling’ was reportedly found inside the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi.
The BJP was quick to counter Gehlot, with party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla lashing out at the grand old party for mocking the beliefs of the Hindus.
“Once again Congress mocks Hindu Astha. Ashok Gehlot says it is ‘tamasha’. Devotion for Baba is tamasha for ‘janeudhari’ Congress? Court order to preserve Shivling is tamasha? DNA of Cong to mock Hindus-they denied existence of Shri Ram-they labelled Hindutva as ISIS,” Poonawalla tweeted.
